PARAMEDIC TRAINING

We all know that first responders, EMTs, and paramedics all need to pass exams, training programs, and certification processes. This can require a lot of study. And if you're not properly prepared, you will not succeed. Preparation is half the battle. The other is showing up.

PARAMEDIC RESOURCES

If you're in need of some suggestions for great resource material, whether that be books, study courses, or even the materials (bags, medicine, etc.) needed for your exams, here are a couple you can get at cheap prices. I've thrown in a couple "fun" supplies as well toward the end.

BOOKS

SUCCESS! for the Paramedic (4th Edition)

"This is THE book to help students pass their National Registry and other state certification exams. This newly revised 4th edition includes updated questions, up-to-date information and test preparation. Over 1900 questions offer proven and authoritative information developed from the U.S. DOT 1999 National Standard Curriculum. All items are written and tested by educators, offering a blend of comprehensive practice exam questions with rationales for every test answer and page references to Paramedic Care: Principles & Practice, 2nd ed. and Essentials of Paramedic Care, 2nd ed. This book will help all users achieve SUCCESS! on their exam."

Essentials of Paramedic Care - Update

"This book is the update to the Essentials of Paramedic Care, 2nd edition, which is the first text program to take students beyond the skills necessary to practice as a paramedic and into the underlying principles upon which those practices are based. Correlated to the U.S. Department of Transportation's 1998 National Standard Curriculum for EMT-Paramedic, this book provides the background content and skills coverage required for paramedic education."

Paramedic Pretest Self Assessment and Review

"Effectively tests knowledge of the recently introduced and extensively revised paramedics curriculum. Meets the new and more rigorous standards of paramedic certification, now emphasizing basic science and pathophysiology. Features 500 multiple-choice questions accompanied by explanations and rationales for the correct answers. Covers the roles and responsibilities of paramedics, airway management and ventilation, medical considerations for all body systems, patient assessment, trauma, and special considerations such as neonatology, geriatrics, and abuse."
